Rack and Pinion

Rack & Pinion, 2/3rd steering wheel rotation lock to lock, with adjustable gear mesh.

Rack length is 268mm from centre of rack end to rack end.

Total Rack stroke is 82mm, (41mm per side).

Weight = 3.2 kg.

Rack gears are made from heat treated 4140 high tensile steel.

Rack body is machined from solid billet 6061 T6 Aluminium.

Pinion gear supported by two ball race sealed bearings.

The Rack is fitted with an eccentric sleeve surrounding the pinion bearings.
By rotating the sleeve the mesh between the pinion gear & rack shaft can be adjusted to remove any backlash.

Comes with rack boots and four M8x40 mounting capscrews & nuts.
